Dean Cooley GM is a Chevrolet, Buick and GMC Dealer with a full fixed operations centre in Dauphin with an immediate vacancy for the foreman position in our Bodyshop Department.


Foreman position

  • Position is directly responsible for supervising, motivating and assisting body shop technicians.
  • Essential job functions include: dispatching work to technicians, monitoring of shop productivity, follow-up with work progress, coordinate parts orders with parts department, liaising with MPI contacts, preparing and submitting supplements and direct repair claims, inspecting and monitoring for high quality repairs.
  • Our facilities are kept clean and the pace is fast - all part of providing the best service to our customers.

Essential job functions of Shop Foreman include:

  • The ideal candidate will have experience working in the Collision Repair industry

Journeyman Automotive Technician

We are currently seeking a mature and experienced automotive expert to join our Service Team on a full time basis in the role of Journeyman Automotive Technician.

 

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

-          Performing AMVIC, Out of Province, and Pre-delivery inspections on new and pre-owned vehicles.

-          Providing proper repair estimates and documenting the repairs and parts required.

-          Diagnosing vehicle problems, completing required repairs, and performing regular maintenance on all types of vehicles (cars, trucks, SUV's, diesels etc.)

Education/Experience required:

-          Journeyman Automotive Service Technician certificate.

-          Minimum 5 years' experience performing maintenance/repairs on vehicles while employed by an auto body shop or dealership.

-          Significant experience in all automotive knowledge areas including drivability, electrical, and mechanical.

-          Previous experience performing vehicle inspections would be considered an asset.

-          Ability to speak, read and write English necessary.

-          A valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license.

-          GM training/experience preferred.

-          Competent computer literacy required.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading manufacturers' publications.
